What EcoChick was up to this August

Well I was really excited to get some more Green Cricket Products to try out this month. So to make sampling products lower waste, I usually try to find them at another store first, rather than have them shipped (often in plastic). So I was really happy to find both the Lavender Mint Shampoo and the Natural Sunscreen at Replenish YEG.

Now Lavender Mint...."What the heck ?"some of you may say. That's what I said myself. but wait til you try it, it's amazing, like your own little aromatherapy session in every shower... refreshing, invigorating. The two scents combine in a very interesting way that its actually difficult to distinguish them separately. This Natural, Canadian made Shampoo and Conditioner left my hair feeling great too, which is also important!

The big win for me was finding more products that a) I want to use myself b) come in a refill format and c) have a closed loop returnable container program. A lot of Canadian suppliers have gone away from doing this (likely because of cost) but it is really nice to see Green Cricket offering this and I'm going to try to take advantage of as many of their products as I can!, so stay tuned for more from this supplier!

Also had to try to soak up some of the last rays of the sun and test out the sunscreen. I was expecting it to be a lot heavier and stickier than it was (as were some other natural sunscreens I've used in the past. I had real staying power too... I did some stairs and went for a swim and didn't feel like I needed to re-apply. And well yeah also didn't burn which is the main point, lol!
